3D Occlusal Splint

3D printed occlusal splint is a custom-made dental device designed to improve the alignment of the upper and lower jaws and alleviate symptoms associated with temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ/TMD). It is created using advanced 3D printing technology, which allows for precise fabrication based on digital scans or impressions of the patient's teeth. The process of creating a 3D occlusal splint involves:

1. Digital Scanning or Impressions:

The patient's teeth and bite are digitally scanned, or traditional impressions are taken to create a precise representation of their dental anatomy.

2. Digital Design:

Using 3Shape software, we design the occlusal splint, taking into consideration the patient's bite alignment and any specific instructions from the dentist.

3. 3D printing:

Once the design is approved, it's sent to a 3D printer. The printer builds the splint layer by layer from KeyPrint biocompatible resin.

4. Post-processing:

After printing, the splint or nightguard undergoes post-processing, which includes cleaning, curing, and sometimes polishing, to ensure optimal fit and comfort.

This digital process results in a highly accurate, comfortable, and durable appliance. It also allows for rapid production and easy reproduction if a replacement is needed.
